David Ortiz-Signed Bat Awarded To Boston Police Commissioner

BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston Police Commissioner William Evans received a signed David Ortiz baseball bat from the When U Dream A Dream charity in Boston on Friday afternoon.

Evans was given the bat after Boston police helped out the charity by escorting a child with physical disabilities around the city when he came to visit last September. The kid visited Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox designated hitter.

The police commissioner received the award from Lawrence Ira Plescow, president of the charity, at police headquarters on Schroeder Plaza at 2 p.m.
