Week 3 Fantasy Football Advice: Who To Pick Up To Replace Tony Romo

BOSTON (CBS) -- Fantasy Football is a lot of fun, until your star player goes down with an injury in the first two weeks.

If you went heavy on the Cowboys this season, you might be out of luck. Both quarterback Tony Romo and receiver Dez Bryant are sidelined for the next couple of months, leaving some fantasy owners scrambling to find decent and serviceable players to fill their roster.

CBS Sports' Fantasy Football expert Dave Richard joined Toucher & Rich on Thursday for his weekly call into the show, and offered up a few quarterbacks to fill the void while Romo recovers from a broken collarbone.

Richard said the best option is Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton, who has five touchdowns and no interceptions over the first two weeks of the season and a friendly matchup against a struggling Baltimore defense in Week 3.

"It's going to be a competitive game, but Baltimore just watched Oakland put up 37 points against them. I can't help but think Dalton will have a good week," Richard said.

Richard also said there are other QBs who don't have great outlooks for the week but should fill the void: Marcus Mariota vs. Indy, Teddy Bridgewater vs. San Diego, David Carr @ Cleveland and Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Philadelphia are good options as well.

"If you want a real sleeper, it's Blake Bortles against New England," said Richard. "The Patriots are winning games but allowing a ton of yardage and touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. I don't think the Jaguars aren't going to win, but they can put up some stats in the second half. If you like garbage time, and it doesn't matter how you get them in fantasy, stats are stats and Bortles is going to put up some."

Find out what Richard recommends to do with DeMarco Murray and Andrew Luck, who are both off to disappointing starts to the season:
