Police Return To Apartment Where Bella Bond Was Killed

BOSTON (CBS) – Police executed a new search warrant Wednesday at the home where Bella Bond, the toddler previously known as "Baby Doe" was allegedly murdered by her mother's boyfriend.

Police did not specify what they searched for at the Dorchester apartment.

"We did execute a warrant at the target location today. I will not say what items were taken. It is not uncommon to execute subsequent warrants at a target location as new information is developed," a State Police spokesman said.

A source told WBZ-TV's Liam Martin that several pieces of evidence were removed from the apartment, but the key item was a refrigerator.

Rachelle Bond and her boyfriend Michael McCarthy were arraigned Monday. McCarthy is charged with murdering the girl, while Bond is accused with helping cover up her daughter's death for several months.

The Maxwell Street apartment is where prosecutors allege McCarthy killed Bond before placing her inside a construction bag and putting her inside a refrigerator.

The toddler's body was found in a bag on Deer Island in June.
