Bella Bond's Biological Father Doesn't Blame Mother For Their Daughter's Death

BOSTON (CBS/AP) -- The biological father of Bella Bond, previously known as "Baby Doe" around New England, says he doesn't blame Rachelle Bond for their daughter's death.

Joe Amoroso, who never met Bella while she was still alive, says he places the blame on Bond's boyfriend, who he believes was controlling her. He yelled at the accused killer while he was being led out of the courtroom: "Mike McCarthy, you're done! You won't last a day."

"From what she told me, Michael McCarthy was injecting a gram-to-three grams of heroin into her jugular vein every day for five months, keeping her sedated (and) taking all of her psych meds," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomey following Bond's and McCarthy's arraignment in Dorchester on Monday morning.

McCarthy, 35, has been charged with killing the 2-year-old girl, who was found in a contractor-size trash bag by a woman walking her dog on Deer Island in June, and Bond, 40, is facing a charge of being an accessory after the fact.

The judge ordered McCarthy held without bail, while Rachelle was held on $1 million cash bail.
