Watch A College Hockey Goalie Chug A Beer On The Ice Before Immediately Getting Ejected

BOSTON (CBS) -- As we learned with the 2011 Red Sox, if you want to help your team win it's probably not the best idea to literally drink beer during games. University of Virginia goalie Jake Anderson learned that the hard way after the Cavaliers' season-opening win last Friday.

Watch the video below to see Anderson take a beer can thrown to him by a fan and chug the whole thing. Right on the ice.

Anderson was ejected from the game and assessed a five-minute major, presumably for unsportsmanlike conduct - it's unconfirmed whether "beer-pounding" is an official penalty. In general, having a few Steveweisers at college should be expected. But drinking it right on the ice is next-level college bro-ness.

The game recap from the Virginia website eviscerated the goalie for his "selfish act" and compared his behavior to "the maturity of a middle schooler desperate for attention from his crush." Yikes.

The team won 10-1 anyway, but the goalie obviously put himself before the team with that move. Curiously, the recap says "By Doug Eisman" at the end. Doug Eisman is a center on the Virginia roster. Does this guy write his own team's recaps? Did he just roast his own teammate?

Oh well, it's Virginia anyway. Division II team. Won't affect things up north. Would be hilarious to witness this kind of buffoonery in Hockey East, though. Watch the College Hockey Chugging Champion below.
