Stork Absent From Another Practice On Monday, Status For Patriots Opener Unknown

BOSTON (CBS) -- We can start worrying about Patriots center Bryan Stork.

Stork was absent from Patriots practice on Monday for the second straight day, making it unlikely he'll be available for Thursday's season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The second-year center did not play throughout the preseason, and was reportedly going through concussion protocol on Monday.

Stork was listed on New England's first practice report of the season with a concussion, and was the only player to miss Monday's session. Safety Tavon Wilson was limited with a quad injury, while running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring) and defensive lineman Trey Flowers (knee) were full participants.

Stork played an integral role in the Patriots solidifying their offensive line after some early struggles last season, and he is already seen as a key part of New England's ability to protect quarterback Tom Brady. If Stork can't play Thursday night, veteran lineman Ryan Wendell would likely move to center for New England, with veteran Josh Kline or rookie Shaq Mason potentially taking over at left guard.
