'Consumer Reports' Names Worst Cars Of 2015

BOSTON (CBS) -- After spending months testing and evaluating a variety of vehicles, "Consumer Reports" has picked four car models that they consider to be the worst cars of 2015.

Of the mid-sized variety, the Chrysler 200's shortcomings included a raspy engine, transmission issues, poor handling, and cramped rear seating.

In the luxury category, the Land Rover Discovery Sport was said to have poor handling, entertainment system, and transmission.

The Lexus 200 NX 200t/300h received poor marks for a bumpy ride and adding interior features that "feel cheap."

While it was designed to look like an SUV, the Kia Sedona minivan is called "mediocre." The ride isn't smooth and there are rattles and squeaks.

The vehicles named the best cars of 2015 include the Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen GTI, Ford F-150, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Porsche Macan, Subaru Legacy, Kia Sorento, and Subaru Outback.

Consumer Reports says they drove several dozen vehicles at their 327-acre test track. They put each vehicle through more than 50 instrumented tests and other evaluations.

The vehicles were also driven for thousands of miles on the open road.
