Dedham Firefighters Rescue Worker Who Fell Into 15-Foot Trench

DEDHAM (CBS) -- A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after falling into a 15-foot trench while working in Dedham Monday night.

Dedham Fire Department officials said that the man was working at the Spectra pipeline construction site on Route 1 northbound when he fell.

The worker was knocked unconscious and sustained neck and back injuries, but is expected to survive.

Firefighters rescued him by hooking a rescue basket up to a backhoe and pulling the worker out.

The worker's age has not been released and it's still not clear how he fell in.
