Report: Brady's 'Stance Hasn't Changed', Not Accepting Suspension

BOSTON (CBS) -- The theme of conflicting reports and questionable information in DeflateGate continues.

Wednesday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Tom Brady is willing to accept some form of suspension, just not for conspiring to deflate footballs. Mike Florio confirmed the report as "accurate" on Pro Football Talk.

Now, reports have come out claiming the opposite.

The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe tweeted Wednesday afternoon: "I was just told any reports are false suggesting Brady is getting ready to accept a suspension."

Ian Rapoport, who works for the NFL Network, corroborated the report.

In addition, Scott Zolak said on Felger & Mazz yesterday that Brady is upset by the way things were going and is still pushing to wipe out the suspension.

Obviously, both sides can't be correct in this situation. Considering the way Brady has claimed complete innocence and fought the suspension every step of the way, the logical assumption is that he still hasn't changed his mind and refuses to accept any suspension.

Conversely, Schefter and Florio are generally considered two of the most reputable and plugged-in NFL reporters in the business. Would Schefter report unconfirmed information after what happened to Chris Mortensen?

With the way today's hearing between the NFL, Judge Richard Berman, and the NFLPA went for the league (it was a bloodbath), it would be shocking if Brady agreed to accept any kind of suspension at this point.

Once again, someone is feeding false information to reporters. Who's right and wrong is unknown. The two sides in federal court, and in the court of public opinion, won't budge based on today's conflicting reports. Like most of the DeflateGate debacle, nobody knows what's really happening.
