Tom Brady Sketch Artist Jane Rosenberg Could Cash In Big-Time

BOSTON (CBS) -- Jane Rosenberg, the artist behind the most infamous courtroom sketch of the 21st century, has a chance to make a lot of money on her drawing of Tom Brady that went viral last week.

Rosenberg spoke to ESPN Radio on the controversy and said she has been "inundated" with emails ranging from light criticism to straight-up cyber-bullying. She has also received "at least 25 emails" from people looking to purchase the original drawing.

Rosenberg said she owns the rights to the sketch, so she can do whatever she wants with it. She joked "I want a million bucks!" - but considering the stuff that gets sold for stupid amounts on eBay these days, that might not be far off.

Shortly after the sketch went viral, Rosenberg spoke to WBZ's Jim Armstrong, who first tweeted the drawing. She apologized (but was that necessary?) while offering an explanation for the rough sketch that more resembled Lurch from the Addams Family than Tom Brady.

"He's a very handsome guy," she told Armstrong. "It's very hard in a very short time to get somebody so good-looking to look as good as they look [in person]."

Rosenberg has been a courtroom sketch artist for 35 years, and has drawn figures ranging from Woody Allen to John Gotti. She showcases her artwork on her website. As you can see, she's been doing this for a while and isn't concerned about the criticism over her Brady drawing, or "that one little square inch of my paper" that everyone focused on.

Honestly, Rosenberg deserves a nice payday for all the unwarranted grief she's gotten over the drawing. Courtroom sketches aren't meant to look perfect and it's not her fault that Tom Brady is a perfect human.

Rosenberg told ESPN that "Nobody's talked money" with her yet, but she should see what people are offering and field offers on the drawing while it's still fresh in everyone's minds. She would be crazy not to cash in.
