Mechanical Issue Forces London-Bound Plane To Land At Logan Airport

BOSTON (CBS) – A plane bound for London was forced to land at Logan Airport early Friday morning due to mechanical issue.

American Airlines Flight 174, a Boeing 777 aircraft, left from North Carolina on a flight to London, but a hydraulic leak was discovered in one of the plane's redundant systems.

The pilot safely landed the plane at Logan Airport just after midnight and successfully taxied to the gate.

There were 158 passengers and 14 crew members on the flight.

All passengers were able to get onto other flights to complete their trip to London.
