Boston Celtics 2015-16 Schedule Released

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics' 2015-16 schedule is out, and after making it to the playoffs last season, they'll actually be making some appearances on national television.

The Celtics showed up on a national stage just once during last year's campaign, but this season are tabbed for seven nationally televised games, as well as three additional broadcasts on NBA TV.

The Celtics will show up on ESPN fives times this season: December 9 vs. Chicago; January 13 vs. Indiana; February 19 at Utah; March 16 vs. Oklahoma City; and April 1 at Golden State. They also have two games slated for TNT: November 24 at Atlanta and January 7 at Chicago.

But it all starts for Boston on October 28 at the TD Garden, when they host the Philadelphia 76ers in their season opener. The Celtics open the season with three straight home games, welcoming the Toronto Raptors to town on October 30 and the San Antonio Spurs on November 1.

A few other marquee dates on the Celtics' 2015-16 slate:

- The Celtics will welcome the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors to town on Friday, December 11, 2015.

- LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers make their only trip to Boston on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.

- Kevin Garnett returns as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, December 21, 2015.

- The Los Angeles Lakers make their only visit to Boston on December 30, 2015. The Celtics travel to L.A. on Sunday, April 3, 2016.

Rajon Rondo and the Sacramento Kings come to town on Sunday, February 7, 2016 for a matinee game at the Garden. The C's and Kings will also square off on December 3, 2015 in Mexico City, Mexico.

- Paul Pierce will make his TD Garden debut as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
