Rare Yellow Lobster Spotted By Webster Price Chopper Manager
WEBSTER (CBS) -- There's one lobster at the Price Chopper in Webster that definitely is not for sale.
The very rare yellow lobster was spotted a couple weeks ago by Seafood Manager Axel Chamorro when it arrived in a delivery.
"When it first came in I looked at it and I just put it in a tank," he told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. "I told everybody, 'Don't sell it, I'm going to look into this.'"
After doing some online research, Chamorro said it appears the lobster is a one-in-30-million catch.
Price Chopper contacted the New England Aquarium, which is helping find the lobster a new home.
In the meantime, Price Chopper customers are getting a chance to check out the uncommon crustacean.
"I've been doing this for like 15 years and this is the first time I've seen one like that," Chamorro said.
Last month, a one-in-50-million split-colored lobster was caught by a Winthrop lobsterman and brought to the aquarium.
