Jim Craig's 'Miracle On Ice' 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Collection For Sale

BOSTON (CBS) – Several iconic pieces of sports history could be yours – for a hefty price.

Jim Craig, a Massachusetts native and Boston University graduate, is selling a collection of his items from the 1980 Olympic hockey gold medal-winning team whose performance has been coined the "Miracle on Ice."

Craig was the goalie for the U.S. team that beat the heavily favored Soviet Union in the semifinals and then Finland in the gold medal game at Lake Placid.

The price for the entire 19-item collection, being sold through Lelands, is $5.7 million.

Among the memorabilia in the collection is Craig's gold medal, priced at $1.5 million and the American flag he draped over himself on the ice after the team completed its underdog run. The flag can be purchased for $1 million.

Also for sale is Craig's goalie mask, the jerseys he wore in the gold medal game and the team's stunning upset over the U.S.S.R., and his skates from the tournament.

The private sale runs from August 1 through November 1.
