McDonald's May Start Serving All-Day Breakfast Nationwide In October

NEW YORK (CBS) -- All-day breakfast could soon be coming to a McDonald's near you.

The Wall Street Journal reports that according to a company memo sent Tuesday, McDonald's is looking to serve McMuffins and hash browns for breakfast, lunch and dinner, starting as soon as October.

McDonald's began testing the all-day breakfast concept at a few locations in San Diego earlier this year, and it appears to be a hit with customers.

"Serving all-day breakfast is likely the number one request we hear from McDonald's customers," McDonald's said in a statement to The Journal. "We're testing it out in a few markets to learn more about this possibility."

The breakfast plans come during a trying time for the fast food giant. McDonald's said last month that it plans to close more restaurants in the United States than it opens this year.
