Massachusetts General Hospital Ranked 'Best Hospital' In America

BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts General Hospital has been named the best hospital in the country by a new ranking in U.S. News & World Report.

After coming in second place last year, MGH vaulted to the top spot in the evaluation of nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide. The hospital's ear, nose and throat, diabetes and endocrinology, neurology and neurosurgery, and psychiatry specialties ranked especially high.

Also making the top 10 was Brigham and Women's Hospital, which landed at No. 6. That's an improvement from last year's ninth-place finish, thanks to its high rankings in gynecology, cancer and cardiology treatment.
