Deer Island 'Baby Doe' Featured On Billboards Across Mass.

BOSTON (CBS) -- Officials have unveiled digital highway billboards across the state that may help in the search for the identity of a girl who was found dead on Deer Island last month.

A total of 84 MassDOT-permitted billboards in 50 spots will feature the computer-generated image of Baby Doe along with additional details and a dedicated tip line, State Police announced Monday.

A woman walking her dog found the girl on Deer Island in Winthrop on June 25 and her identity remains a mystery. The girl is believed to have been about 4 years old, had brown eyes and brown hair, weighed about 30 pounds, and stood about 3½ feet tall.

Recently police launched two anonymous tip lines they hope will help them find out who the girl is.

A cause of death has not yet been found.

Anyone with information can text GIRL followed by the tip to 67283.

In addition, tips can be called in anonymously to the 24-hour phone line at (617) 396-5655.
