Police: Framingham Girl Dies After Being Pulled From Pool

FRAMINGHAM (CBS) -- Police say a 10-year-old girl has died after she was pulled from an extended family member's pool in Framingham on Saturday.

Firefighters, police and an ambulance were called to an Edgell Drive house around 7:10 p.m.

Police say the girl was attending some kind of family function at the home.

The girl was showing signs of distress while in the water and was rescued by family members, police say. They tried to resuscitate her and called 911.

Deputy fire chief Stephen Stone says first responders performed CPR, resuscitation, and defibrillation on the victim. They were unsuccessful reviving her.

The Framingham girl was taken to MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.

Middlesex County District Attorney's Office is leading the investigation.

CPAC has also been notified.

No additional details were immediately available.
