'World Naked Bike Ride' Comes To Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – A group of cyclists will be sure to draw plenty of attention Saturday night as they hit the roads. And that's exactly their goal.

The "World Naked Bike Ride" is scheduled to take place at 9 p.m. on Saturday starting at North Point Park in Cambridge.

Organizers said they will not release specifics of the route in order to "make it safest for our riders."

But the route will include rides through downtown Boston and the main squares of Cambridge and Boston.

"We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the best way of defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians as well as the negative consequences we all face due to dependence on oil, and other forms of non-renewable energy," the organization explains on its website.

Last week the event received attention after Hubway pleaded for World Naked Bike Ride participants to "for the love of all that is decent" wear clothing.
