New Bubble Wrap To Drop Its Pop

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBS) -- Bubble Wrap is about to get a lot less fun.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Sealed Air Corp., which has been making the packaging material since 1960, is debuting a new version of their iconic product called "iBubble."

The end result will be flatter, take up a lot less space and be cheaper to ship. Companies would add the air to the bubbles on their own.

It's going to look much like the old fashioned Bubble Wrap -- but there's no popping. Applying pressure to one bubble will simply push the air into adjacent bubbles, The Journal explains.

The company said that it will still be offering original Bubble Wrap for now.
