Celtics Reportedly Re-Sign Jae Crowder

BOSTON (CBS) -- Jae Crowder is coming back to the Celtics.

The restricted free agent has reportedly agreed to a five-year, $35 million deal to stay in Boston.

Crowder took to social media late Wednesday night to share his excitement, letting Celtics fans know he has some "unfinished business" in Boston.

Crowder was acquired last season from the Dallas Mavericks in the package Boston received for Rajon Rondo. The Celtics eventually parted ways with the two other players they acquired in the deal, Brandan Wright and Jameer Nelson, but Crowder fit in perfectly in Brad Stevens' system.

In 57 games (including 17 starts) for the Celtics last season, Crowder averaged career-highs with 9.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. Boston fans quickly took to Crowder's aggressiveness on defense, which is what thrust him into the starting lineup for Boston's final postseason game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Crowder averaged 10.8 points and five rebounds in Boston's four-game sweep at the hands of the Cavs, and was tasked with the duty of slowing down LeBron James. With Evan Turn struggling in the series, he got the start in Game 4.

Crowder's deal comes after Boston signed Amir Johnson and re-signed Jonas Jerebko on Wednesday, both to two-year deals.
