While police were still in the Roxbury neighborhood, a Hillside Street resident told officers she had seen an unknown man inside her home.

When the man was confronted, he told the woman her door was unlocked and left the home, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man with a scruffy beard. He is about six feet tall with a medium build and was wearing a black baseball hat, navy blue shirt, faded blue jeans and white sneakers at the time of the alleged break-ins.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Boston Police Department at (617) 343-4275.
