Barnstable Police: Woman Struck By Car Driven By Unlicensed Man

HYANNIS (CBS) -- Barnstable police say a 21-year-old South Yarmouth man will be facing charged after the unlicensed driver struck a woman crossing Route 132 in Hyannis on Wednesday.

Manuel Arcentales will be charged without operating a license, and will be summonsed to court at a later date.

The accident happened around 6:23 p.m. near the Pizzeria Uno's and the airport rotary.

A 2002 BMW sedan hit a 24-year-old Hyannis woman. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities have not identified the woman.

Police say she crossed a four-lane divided highway, got across two lanes and stepped in front of the car and did not see it coming.

Additional charges against driver are pending further investigation.
