Transit Police: Wakefield Man Assaults 2 Men At North Station
BOSTON (CBS) -- Transit police say a Wakefield man assaulted two men at North Station early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to the MBTA's commuter rail station about 12:10 a.m. for a report of an assault in progress.
The men, ages 25 and 33, told police that a man harassed them for money at the west entrance. When they asked him to leave them alone, the man allegedly became angry and followed them to Track 7 and they again made the same request.
Police say the man then punched the 33-year-old in the face, knocking him to the ground. They also said the 25-year-old intervened and struggled with the man before the suspect stabbed him in the bicep and ran away.
Working off a detailed description of the suspect provided by the victims and witnesses, Transit police say Boston police officers saw the man running through Paul Revere Park in Charlestown. They noticed that he was sweating heavily and had blood on his face.
The victims identified the man as their attacker.
John Spector, 25, was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.
He was slated for arraignment Thursday in Boston Municipal Court.
