NightSide - Should Short-Term Rentals Be Regulated?

BOSTON (CBS) - More and more people are using internet sites like AirBnB or Homeaway to book a place to stay while on vacation, avoiding the high prices and fees that come with booking directly with a hotel or resort. Sites like these simply put people who own property that are looking to rent in touch with travelers looking for a place to stay. Whether you book one room in a full, occupied house, or an empty cabin or condo unit at a resort, finding these short-term rentals can save a bundle. But State Rep. Aaron Michlewitz believes these rentals should now be regulated and taxed. What do you think? Should these types of transactions be regulated? Or should it just be left as two individuals agreeing to a private deal without any government oversight?
