2015 Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Lineup Announced

BOSTON (CBS) – WBZ-TV has announced the lineup for the 42nd annual Boston Pops Fireworks spectacular on July 4th.

The Boston Pops and Keith Lockhart will be joined by Michael Cavanaugh, Melinda Doolittle, Sons of Serendip, the Boston Crusaders, Michelle Brooks Thompson and the USO Show Troupe.

Lockhart is celebrating his 20th anniversary as conductor of both the Pops and the annual July 4th concert on the Charles River Esplanade.

WBZ-TV's Lisa Hughes and David Wade will host the Spectacular on TV. This will be the 13th year WBZ-TV broadcasts the program.

The Spectacular will be televised exclusively on WBZ-TV from 8 p.m.-11 p.m. It will also air locally on WBZ NewsRadio 1030 AM hosted by Jordan Rich and WBZ's morning news anchor Joe Mathieu beginning at 7 p.m.

The fireworks spectacular will be available to a national and international audience online starting at 8PM on BostonPopsJuly4th.org and CBSBoston.com. Live audio streaming of WBZ-AM's coverage will begin at 7 p.m.

The Spectacular will keep alive several traditions including the Pops' rendition of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," which features real cannons.

This year's event will also include a flyover from the 104th Fighter Wing of the Massachusetts National Guard during "The Star-Spangled Banner."

The Spectacular will be capped off by a magnificent fireworks array.

In addition, this year's show will include an interactive component. The onsite audience and viewers at home will be able vote via text message on what they want the Boston Pops to play during the concert.
