Report: NFL Not As Impressed With Tom Brady's Testimony In DeflateGate Appeal
BOSTON (CBS) -- Shortly after Tom Brady's marathon of an appeal ended on Tuesday night, sources told ESPN the Patriots quarterback delivered an "A+" performance as he stated his case to get his DeflateGate suspension thrown out.
It was only a matter of time until the NFL responded, right?
According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, NFL executives weren't as impressed with No. 12, with a league source saying Brady "simply reiterated his denial regarding any involvement in or knowledge of whatever it was that John Jastremski and Jim McNally may have been doing with the team's footballs."
Some even say Brady's response to questions during the appeal "was not entirely credible."
Only time will tell how commissioner Roger Goodell felt about Brady in his appeal, which is really all that matters.
Brady was suspended for four games following the release of the Wells Report, and is reportedly looking to have the suspension completely wiped out. His team, according to PFT, argued the science of the Wells Report is flawed and that there is no proof that Brady knew anything about the potential deflating of footballs ahead of the AFC Championship game in Foxboro.
If Goodell doesn't throw out or reduce the suspension, it's likely Brady will take his fight to federal court.
