Body Of Missing Mass. Boater Found In Lake Winnipesaukee

LACONIA, N.H. (AP) — Authorities have found the body of a Lake Winnipesaukee boater who disappeared over the weekend.

Using underwater detection equipment, they found the body of 63-year-old Domenic Tringale of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, shortly before noon Wednesday.

Divers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the Maine Warden Service recovered Tringale in an area where the water was about 60 feet deep.

The incident remains under investigation by the New Hampshire State Police's Marine Patrol.

Authorities were first called Saturday morning about a boat circling off Governor's Island Beach in Gilford with a dog on board, but no sign of people.

Marine patrol officials believe a snapped steering cable may have caused the boat to suddenly turn, knocking Tringale into the water.
