Daily Talker: Apple Caves To Taylor Swift

Call it a victory for recording artists across the music world.

And they can thank Taylor Swift.

Late Sunday night, Apple reversed its decision to not pay royalties to artists during the company's three-month trial for Apple Music, its new streaming music service that debuts June 30th.

Earlier in the day Sunday, Swift wrote a letter stating, "Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company."  She threatened to withhold her hit album, "1989".

Sunday night, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, Eddie Cue, tweeted:

"#AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer's free trial period."

"We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple."

Swift responded by tweeting, "I am elated and relieved. Thank you for your words of support today. They listened to us."

What do you think of Apple now agreeing to pay artists during its three-month trial for Apple Music, following Taylor Swift's protest?
