Man Dies After Choking On Food At Acton Restaurant

ACTON (CBS) -- A 41-year-old man died after choking on food at an Acton restaurant, police say.

The victim was identified as Douglas Wardwell of Concord.

Acton police say they received a 911 call Wednesday at 2:22 p.m. for a person choking at Tailgaters in Acton.

"Witnesses say he began choking on food and stepped out of the establishment into the parking lot where he vomited," Acton police said in a statement. "He continued to have trouble breathing so another patron attempted to performed the Heimlich maneuver on him."

First responders found Wardwell unresponsive and performed CPR. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
