Newburyport Police Rescue Ducklings From Drain

NEWBURYPORT (CBS) -- Some Newburyport police officers went above and beyond the call of duty to rescue ducklings that fell into a storm drain Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the drain on Lime Street where the ducks were trapped. Local residents helped officers to remove the drain cover and get the ducklings out safely.

A young man pointed officers in the direction of where the rest of the duck family was last seen.

"Ultimately, Sgt. Simons and Officer Tierney were able to locate the family and the two lost ducklings were happily reunited with their mother and siblings," police said.

Police also shared a video of the big reunion.
