McGinest, Antwine Set To Enter Patriots Hall Of Fame On August 5

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Willie McGinest and Houston Antwine will be held on Wednesday August 5, the team announced on Thursday.

The ceremonies, which are free and open to the public, will be held at 5:00pm on the NRG Plaza outside The Hall at Patriot Place in Foxboro. They will once again coincide with the team's first in-stadium practice of the year, which is open to season ticket holders and residents of Foxboro.

McGinest, a three-time Super Bowl Champion and two-time Patriots all-decade team member, was voted in by the fans as the 24th person to enter the Patriots Hall of Fame. Former defensive lineman Houston Antwine was selected by the senior selection committee back in April.

Beginning in 2007, The Patriots Hall of Fame has inducted one player or head coach each year. The process for induction involves a panel of media, alumni and staff who nominate the players or head coaches most deserving of induction, followed by the committee voting for the nominees and the top three tallies become that year's finalists. Then it's up to Patriots fans, who vote online to select each year's winner.

McGinest and Antwine will be the 21st and 22nd players elected into The Hall At Patriots Place.
