State Police: Man Killed By Bull At Hampton Falls, NH Farm

HAMPTON FALLS, N.H. (CBS) - New Hampshire State Police say a 51-year-old man was killed in a confrontation with a bull at a Hampton Falls farm.

Christopher Merrill was found dead at his family farm on East Road at 8 a.m. on May 24.

His family reported Merrill missing on May 23.

Several agencies have participated in the investigation including the State Police Major Crime Unit, Hampton Falls police and the State Medical Examiner's Office. Merrill's wife has also been helping police in their investigation.

Police say that Merrill suffered injuries that were consistent with some kind of confrontation with the bull, which belonged to him.

There were no witnesses.

It's unclear if the bull will be euthanized.

Merrill, who owned a construction, masonry and landscaping business since 1984, was a Class of 1982 Winnacunnet High School graduate and also the Thompson School of Agriculture at the University of New Hampshire in 1984, according to his obituary.

He was a husband and father of two daughters and a son.

A visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m.-to-4 p.m. on Saturday at Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory on Lafayette Road in Hampton, N.H.
