Neighbors On Edge After Shooting In Dorchester

BOSTON (CBS) - Police are investigating after the driver of a car in Dorchester crashed into a porch. He had been shot in the head a block away.

The crash and shooting happened on Ellington Street Thursday afternoon. It's the same street where a child was almost killed by a stray bullet three years ago.

"It's back at our house again," says Sharon Jackson.

Jackson's then 9-year-old son, Preston, was grazed by a bullet that entered his second floor bedroom. The bullet pierced the Celtic's Rondo jersey Preston was wearing at the time.

"I just can't believe this is happening again. Why do they bring the drama – I've been here 15 years. I really don't want to move. My landlord is great. I changed his room to the back of the house," says Jackson.

Jackson is thankful Preston, now 12, was at Celtic's camp when the shooting and crash happened. She feels it's time to move her family.

"I'm really ready to go now. What's it going to take? Me getting killed? It had nothing to do with us. They don't live on our street," says Jackson.

Boston Police do not have any suspects in custody following Thursday's incident.
