Police Arrest Man Accused Of Making Threats Against Obama

MANSFIELD (AP) — A Massachusetts man has been arrested by police and the U.S Secret Service after they said he made death threats against President Barack Obama.

Mansfield police and Secret Service agents Friday went to the West Village apartments on West Street to speak with the man who they say made threats to kill the president. He refused to cooperate and would not leave his apartment.

A SWAT team and negotiator were brought in and the man eventually left his apartment and was taken into custody.

Police say a search of his apartment did not find anything that appeared to be a public safety hazard.

The man was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

Massachusetts State Police and the Secret Service are investigating the matter. Mansfield police say criminal charges may be filed.
