One goat was found on Berkley Street and the other on Hickory Lane.

Merrmiack police posted a photograph on their Facebook page that showed an officer sitting in his cruiser with one of the goats in the back seat.

Police said the goats both appear to be males, do not have horns, and look to be in good condition.

The animals are being held until they can be identified, police said.
