WBZ Viewer Wins Snowfall Contest After Predicting Historic Winter

BOSTON (CBS) – While many are trying to forget all the snow from this past winter, one lucky WBZ-TV viewer will always remember it fondly.

Way back in the fall, Christine Buckhout was just one of over a 1,000 viewers who entered our annual WBZ Snowfall Contest.

At the time, her snowfall prediction of 112.6" seemed ludicrous.

After all, Boston had never received more than 107.6" in its recorded history (more than 100 years).

While we were calling for a big snow season here at WBZ, nobody could have imagined that a record 110.6" would fall, except Christine that is.

Christine missed the final mark by just 2", and by doing so, won a new Toro Snowblower and season ski pass to Wachusett Mountain Ski Area.

By the way, her prediction for next winter? Much less snow - 40-50" in Boston.
