Police Find Vehicle Linked To Fatal Crash Involving A Wheelbarrow

OXFORD (CBS) – State Police have identified the vehicle that a wheelbarrow fell out of causing a crash that killed a man Saturday afternoon in Oxford.

The crash occurred north of Exit 5 of Route 395 southbound around 1 p.m.

Police say a woman was traveling on Route 395 south when she saw the wheelbarrow in the left travel lane.  She was able to drive around the wheelbarrow to avoid a collision.

However, 32-year-old Steven Richards, who was driving behind the woman, was killed trying to avoid the wheelbarrow. Richards leaves behind a wife, a 7-year-old daughter, and a 3-year-old son.

He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident. No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle carrying the wheelbarrow.
