Vince Wilfork To New England Tech Grads: 'Look At Me Now'

WARWICK, R.I. (CBS) -- Vince Wilfork told graduating students Sunday he's an example of what happens when you don't listen to those who doubt you.

"All these doubters doubted me, and look at me now," Wilfork said during his commencement speech. "How do you think I feel now?"

The two-time Super Bowl champion received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the Institute.

He called working with the New England Patriots a "luxury," even though he jokingly admitted when he was drafted by the team, he told his wife he didn't know where New England was.

Now a player for the Houston Texans, the veteran defensive tackle said he'll "always be a Patriot, no matter how you slice it."

"No matter what you do in life, you're going to have doubters, you're going to have some haters, they're going to try to pull you down," Wilfork said.

"If you have something that you're focusing on, you focus on it and you make that dream and that goal come true," he said.
