Ray Lewis Trying To Single-Handedly Stop Violence In Baltimore

BOSTON (CBS) -- The situation in Baltimore is, obviously, no laughing matter. But Ray Lewis thinking he has the power to stop the protests on the streets is a joke.

ESPN announced Tuesday that the former Ravens star-turned TV analyst will not be attending the NFL draft this week so that he can "help stop the violence" in Baltimore. Lewis posted a Facebook video to accompany this announcement, wherein he pleads with young people in Baltimore to "get off the streets ... go home, stay home!"

Toucher & Rich played Lewis' message on Wednesday morning, amazed at how self-important the former football player feels.

"There's enough of us in the street that's trying to change what's going on. Baltimore, get off the streets! ... We put this city together, we put this city on our back."

"Oh, God, Ray, get over yourself," Fred said. "What streets of Baltimore were you on? You're a multi-million dollar football icon? What streets were you on? You put the city on your back? You were compensated for playing football eight days a year in that city -- if you count the playoffs, 10. I mean, get over yourself."

Lewis continued: "I can't come back home and this is it. Kids can't walk the street. This is our future! Our future's in Baltimore! What we're trying to build is in Baltimore."

Fred said, "You know, Ray, when you were there, Baltimore was really F'd up -- really bad. Really, really bad. When you were in Baltimore, it was a bad place to live in a lot of sections -- for the entirety of your career. It was terrible. You didn't really do a whole lot, Ray. You didn't sweep in there and save the day. I'm sure you had some charities, I'm sure you did some good things. But this isn't new. This is a bad area."

Back to Lewis: "Too many babies paying attention to this craziness!"

"What is he talking about, too many babies?" Rich asked.

Lewis: "And the sad part is, we got young kids trying to tell us how they're gonna dictate our city. That won't happen. We must change this right now. Go home! I'm telling you -- go home! Whatever I gotta do, it will not happen on our clock."

Fred responded: "Whatever I have to do, sit in my living room with an iPhone, I'm more than capable of doing it! ... I don't know what I have to, but I'm More than capable of sitting in my living room and giving you almost two minutes of audio!"

Rich then played an incredible "Super-Ray" theme song. Listen below:
