BOSTON (CBS) - Standardized testing has become a point of emphasis in many schools across the country ever since we decided to attach federal funding to testing results. With so much emphasis now put on these results, teachers often find themselves forced to teach to the test rather than approach their subjects from a broader point of view. Tom Birmingham, former Massachusetts Senate President and now a Senior Fellow at the Pioneer Institute, joins Dan to talk about standardized testing and how to get the focus in the classroom back on learning and a well-rounded education.
