NH Man Accused Of Killing Parents Added To Most Wanted List

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – A New Hampshire man who investigators say killed his parents and lit their home on fire has been added to the United States Marshals Service's "15 Most Wanted" list.

Matthew Dion, 39, is wanted for second-degree murder, arson and possession of child pornography. In addition, authorities added charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, which allowed U.S. Marshals to join the manhunt.

Dion's parents, Robert and Constance Dion, were found dead inside their burning home on March 24. Investigators determined the two had been killed and the fire was intentionally set.

"Matthew Dion's alleged crimes have made him the latest addition to our 15 Most Wanted list, which is reserved for those suspected of heinous crimes such as those Dion is accused of committing," said U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton. "Our Deputy U.S. Marshals and federal and local partners are dedicated to his apprehension so that he may face justice."

Investigators believe Dion fled New Hampshire not long after the death of his parents. Dion is known to have ties to Georgia and at one point was thought to possibly be in Florida, but Marshals said his exact location remains unknown.

Dion is believed to be armed and dangerous.

"Extensive work has already been done on this case by the Manchester Police Department," said U.S. Marshal David Cargill, who works in the New Hampshire division. "As always, we remain dedicated to working with our law enforcement partners to track down and apprehend the most violent fugitives, and this case will be no different."

Marshals describe Dion as 5'10" and about 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He has a small horizontal scar on his forehead and blackened teeth from extensive tooth decay.

Police believe Dion may be driving a stolen 2013 Hyundai Elantra, though he likely changed the plates several times.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading directly to Dion's arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call their nearest U.S. Marshal's office, or the United States Marshals Service Communications Center at 1 (800) 336-0102.
