Brad Stevens Finishes Fourth In NBA Coach Of The Year Voting
BOSTON (CBS) - Brad Stevens is emerging as one of the top head coaches in the National Basketball Association.
The Celtics' second year head coach finished fourth in the 2014-15 season Coach Of The Year voting, earning 50 total points. Atlanta's Mike Budenholzer took home the Red Auerbach Trophy with 513 total points, edging out Golden State's Steve Kerr (471 points) and Milwaukee's Jason Kidd (57 points).
Brad Stevens received two first place votes, four second place votes and 28 third place votes.
The winner is selected at the end of regular season by a panel of sportswriters, each of whom casts a vote for first, second and third place selections. Each first-place vote is worth five points; each second-place vote is worth three points; and each third-place vote is worth one point. The person with the highest point total, regardless of the number of first-place votes, wins the award.
Brad Stevens helped guide a young Celtics roster to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference with a 40-42 record, a 15-game improvement from the previous season.
