Runners Gather For Pre-Marathon Pasta Dinner
BOSTON (CBS) -- Thousands of marathon runners gathered to enjoy a pasta dinner the night before the race.
The pre-race pasta party, compliments of the Boston Athletic Association, plays into a concept known as carbo-loading, which involves eating plenty of carbohydrates to build up energy needed during the long run.
The party was also one way to bring runners from around the world together.
An estimated 30,000 runners from 87 countries are expected to run Monday's race.
