Who To Watch On Marathon Monday

BOSTON (CBS) - The 119th running of the Boston Marathon takes place this Monday and there are plenty of chances for memorable feats.

Meb Keflezighi ran his way into the record books last year by becoming the first American men's winner since 1983.

"Now people know me as Meb and it's a great honor to be recognized and that happened because of hard work and persistence and perseverance," Keflezighi said.

There hasn't been a women's American winner in Boston in thirty years, but that could change on Monday.

"We just have to run the race of our life. The confidence though I feel is high. I think we feel good. I think the opportunity is there," Shalane Flanagan said.

"I don't think anyone is going to run away with it, so you have to be tough and understand that you are going to be fighting to that finish line and not a step short," said Desi Linden.

Dick and Rick Hoyt are Boston Marathon staples, but this year Rick will have a new partner. Dick will actually be the event's Grand Marshal. He is working on his wave.

"Well I'm just starting. I still have three days to go," Dick Hoyt said.

Longtime teammate Bryan Lyons will push Rick in this year's race.

"The fans and the support has been incredible so to be running with Rick this year will be special," Lyons said.
