Chicks Abandoned On Side Of Somerville Road

SOMERVILLE (CBS) - Somerville Animal Control officers are searching for a woman who allegedly abandoned two small chicks on the side of the road Thursday evening.

The chicks were left in a small box on Shore Drive in Somerville.

A Good Samaritan who found the chicks said that a woman in her 40s with a slim build put the chicks down and walked away. She left in the direction of Mystic Ave. with three small children.

Somerville Animal Control hopes to find the woman to "educate her on the laws regarding abandoning animals."

The chicks are healthy and have already found a new home.
