Gorman On Toucher & Rich: Celtics Can Take Cleveland To Game 6

BOSTON (CBS) - After a season of ups and downs, 11 trades, 41 roster players and one magnificent coach, it's official: the Boston Celtics are headed to the 2015 NBA Playoffs.

Mike Gorman, the voice of the Celtics for Comcast SportsNet New England, spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich Wednesday morning to preview the upcoming series with Cleveland.

Like most people who come in contact with him, Gorman spoke very highly of coach Brad Stevens and the job he's done this season to form a playoff team despite parting ways with Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green earlier in the year.

"He exudes leadership. You want to follow him. You want to listen to what he has to say," said Gorman.

The radio duo spoke with Gorman about Stevens' ability to get his team, which clearly lacks star-power, to play with consistent high-intensity and execute his commands.

"He just inspires confidence is the best way to put it. I think the big difference is that they listen to him now," said Gorman.

The Celtics are riding a five-game win streak heading into Wednesday's regular season finale in Milwaukee. After that, the challenge becomes Cleveland's three-headed monster in LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

Boston bested Cleveland in a pair of games last week, but Cleveland's top players sat the second half of the first game and all of the second. Before that, the Cavs put a 31-point bea tdown on the Celtics March 3rd.

Still, Boston has hit their stride late and has been playing inspired basketball since the addition of guard Isaiah Thomas from the Suns, who was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week last week for the second time since he swapped orange for green.

"I think the Celtics can take this to six games," said Gorman. "I still like Boston's chances to make this a much more interesting series than people think."
