Towns Along Boston Marathon Route Work To Repair Potholes
FRAMINGHAM (CBS) -- With just days to go until the Boston Marathon, cities and towns along the racecourse are busy trying to fix pothole-ridden roads that will soon be accommodating tens of thousands of athletes.
The historically harsh winter in the Boston area has made a mess of streets, posing hazards for both drivers and runners.
Waverly Street in Framingham was getting a little cosmetic surgery on Tuesday.

"We just started paving, putting back an inch and a half to make it nice and smooth for the runners," said Scott Middleton, the town's road maintenance supervisor. "It's not a Spartan race or anything."
Middleton told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's that his crew has been to the same spots over and over again because the turbulent weather kept bringing the potholes back.
"Sometimes we go back three, four times a week just to fill the same pothole," he said. "It's just a never-ending cycle."
