Daily Talker: Marathon Movie

Plans are in the works for a movie about the Boston Marathon bombing and it has a lot of people talking today.

Mark Wahlberg is among the producers for the movie, CBS Films announced Tuesday.

"Patriots' Day" will chronicle the events surrounding the 2013 attack and manhunt for the suspected bombers, based on the first-hand account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

Davis tells WBZ that he impressed with the way CBS news, and in particular their program "60 Minutes", handled their coverage of the events. So when CBS Films called Davis with a proposal, he considered it.

"Last year they approached me and asked me if they could buy my life rights," Davis said. "And quite frankly, I didn't even know what that meant."

"It's an important part of the history of the city and it should be documented," Davis explained. "And I'm satisfied that this group is responsible and clearly interested in telling the story the way it happened."

The movie is envisioned as an "intense thriller" spanning the five-day search and the infamous siege where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was pulled from a boat in Watertown.
