Jaffe: David Krejci Is Not A Right Wing

BOSTON (CBS - The Boston Bruins have earned five out of a possible six points over their last three games, passing the Ottawa Senators in the process for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Once out of their hands, Boston's playoff destiny is now fully in their control.

As it currently stands, the Bruins are three points ahead of Ottawa, four points ahead of Florida and just three points behind Washington.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich talked to NESN's Billy Jaffe Monday morning about the hometown hockey team's two big wins over the weekend, including the remaining six games for the B's.

One thing that's stood out to Jaffe over the last week has been forward David Krejci.

Krejci returned Thursday night against Anaheim after missing the previous 15 games with a knee injury. During his absence, the first line really flourished and a unique chemistry of Milan Lucic, Ryan Spooner and David Pastrnak developed.

So good, in fact, that nobody wants to see it broken up, including head coach Claude Julien himself. Julien has played Krejci on the second line's right wing alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, but the 28-year-old looks all out of sorts at his new position. Krejci is a -1 and has just three shots on goal in his three games at right wing.

"I think David Krejci has got to move back to center soon. There's no practice today, so I have no idea what Claude Julien is going to do. But I think at some point you're going to have to move Krejci back to center," Jaffe told Toucher & Wallach.

Jaffe thinks Julien will experiment with some different combinations over the next few games, or certainly in practice.
